Here are some of the health machines and and training equipment I use at home. I will go into more details of some exercises that I do in the latter version of the post. I have been doing health and biohacking research from reading scientific publications and other health bloggers for some time now. I have been able to mitigate or remove a lot of my past issues, I am continuing to integrate more healthy habits. I am able to maintain a strong body (and even grow in body capacities), while working a lot to make my tech business grow, and doing art, architecture, learning on philosophy/culture/politics and learning a new language. My mother tongue is French, I learned English after high school, now I am learning Japanese, after it I plan to learn a Slavic language. It will take some time but I will cap it with German and Chinese. I don't need to be extremely fluent in all of them but to be able to get by in those languages. Fingers cross, I will learn a bit more about Latin, Hebrew and Greek.

Disclaimer:

I am not a trainer or medical professional, the things I discuss in this blog post are simply what I use in my training and some of the health protocols I follow. I might give advises in training and health related posts and in stream in the future, but you should always use your own judgment, do your own research and talk to a professional. I have acquire a lot of knowledge on a lot of related topics but this does not give me a legal or professional capacity in the subjects discussed here.

Training Equipment

I like to do a lot of exercise with balancing aspects, that promote body and joints stability while forcing.

  • Parallel bars (product link)

  • Near floor parallel bars (product link)

  • Balance half sphere with full sphere. I do pistol and dragon squat on them. (product link)

  • Wobbly cushion (product link)

  • Yoga mat

  • Balancing board and roller (product link)

  • Gymnastic ring. I also like to do wobbly pushups with those. (product link)

  • Grip strengthener from 50 to 200 lb. I have really strong hands since I do rock climbing, but the 200 lb is exaggerated (I can close it with maximum effort), there is also some leverage with the distance to the center of rotation. The weight calculation might be from the middle of the handle, while a hand can force from the farthest edge also. (product link)

  • Adjustable grip strengthener from 20 to 130 lb. The 130 lb is dubious since it feel to easy and and I know my maximum hand closing strength is a bit higher and measured with the precise device next in the list. Like the last one, it is probably calculated from the middle of the handle. An interesting fact is that a hand can hold a higher load at a fix finger position than the load a hand can fully close under. (product link)

  • Grip strength measurement device (product link).

I use the pull up bar for multiple purposes (product link):

  • Chin ups, pull ups and muscle ups;

  • Gravity boot for hanging upside down. Good for vertebrae decompression (especially lower back);

  • Head traction harness for neck vertebrae decompression.

I some time use it with elastic bands and tubes:

Hanging board of 0.5 to 1 inches dept. Good for finger strength training.

  • Weighted vest of 45 lb and 15 lb;

  • Ankle of 10 lb and wrist of 5 lb;

  • Thigh weight of 5 lb.

Some times i use all those weight, a big military bag filled with water gallons (6x 8.5 lb) and weight, for a total of 130 to 240 lb (only when I had my big military rucksack) extra. I do walking stairs and up small mountain/cliff with the 130 to 160 lb and walking on flat ground with the 200 to 240 lb.

Wall for hand stand

I also train at the gym (weight lifting, running, calisthenics), at a rock climbing gym and some times swim in a municipal pool.

When I buy a house, in the short term, instead of living in an apartment, I will upgrade my home gym with bigger machines :

  • Bench

  • Dumbbell rack 50 to 120 lb (I already do 100 lb dumbbell per hand in bench press)

  • Squat Rack

  • Treadmill

  • Rower

  • Stepmill

  • Monkey bar stuff

In a later post I will go more in dept with my different training exercises.

Health Machines

Called PhotoBioModulation (PBM), 4x Biomax 900 with mechanize horizontal stand (product link1 and link2). Some times referred as Red Light Therapy (RLT). I will also buy a spectrometer (or sun meter for cheaper), other small RLT and BLT (Blue Light Therapy) devices. In part for the face, eyes and spot treatments.

Steam sauna (product link), with thermometer, humidity sensor, hourglass and lymphatic drain stones. I am also trying a sauna hat to see if I feal a difference. I will upgrade to a normal sauna room in my next house.

Cold bath setup in a tub with frozen bottle of water. It approximate the job but it does kind of work for only 1 of my cycle of 20 minutes in the sauna with 5 minutes of cold bath (I do 3 to 5 cycles like that but I need to go in a dedicated spa place since my setup is not good enough for that). For my next place, I will design a cold bath with sea salt, filtering, ozone, heat and cold control.

  • iRestore RLT for hair growth;

  • NuDerma electrotherapy (not sure if I see a difference with it but I am not really diligent with it);

  • Derminator 2 micro needling for hair growth, skin health.

  • Levoit ultrasound humidifier (product link)

  • Air filter with uv. This one is old and badly designed, a higher intake rate is paramount, I will explain when I finish choosing my replacement device.

Amount my next step, are to research and by air quality sensors (and connexe) such as particulate PM2.5 to PM10, CO, CO2, NOx, TVOC, HCHO, AQI, radon, radiation geiger counter, EMF detector, humidity and thermal sensor.

Tap water filter with filter, activated carbon, reverse osmosis, remineralization and UV sanitizing (product link).

In a later post I will go more in dept with my different health protocols and research resources.

At some point, I will do blog posts that goes more into details with food, naturopathy, holistic medicine, materials (will probably make a book on that and natural medicine at some point) but it get really long and complicated really fast.

Take care, live well,
